Brazed Profile Milling Cutters

Product Details

Product description

FHONK brazed carbide profile cutters are built on a composite structure: the cutting teeth are made of carbide and firmly brazed to a steel cutter body. This carbide-tipped construction preserves the hardness and wear resistance of tungsten carbide while drawing on the toughness of steel — the steel body and carbide edges complement each other, each compensating for the other's limits. FHONK also offers custom, non-standard tooling: brazed carbide cutters of all types can be made to order, produced exactly to your drawings or physical samples.

Application Explanation

FHONK brazed carbide profile cutters serve a wide range of industries and materials.
Woodworking & Furniture — edge profiling, decorative edge routing and carving, and copy milling on door panels, cabinet parts, and panel stock; the cutters run on woodworking routers, spindle moulders, shapers, and CNC machining centers.
Metalworking & Mold Making — machines cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel, and other metals, and is widely used in the aerospace, automotive, and mold & die industries.
Stone & Hard Materials — edge forming and profiling of granite, marble, and other stone, with diamond-brazed versions available.
Plastics & Composites — milling of acrylic, man-made boards, and other non-metallic materials.

Performance Advantages

Complementary material properties. Carbide cutting edges on a steel body deliver hardness and wear resistance together with toughness and impact resistance.

High precision, sharp edges. The cutters produce a smooth, clean surface finish and clearly outperform ordinary high-speed steel (HSS) tools.

One-pass profiling. Multi-step profiles can be built into a single form cutter, completing several operations in one pass for higher efficiency and lower cost.

Long tool life. Strong wear resistance means no frequent regrinding and a lower overall cost of use.

Flexible customization. FHONK manufactures non-standard form cutters with special and complex profiles, produced to your drawings or samples.
